The following candidates have been elected to serve as SIGCOMM's officers from July 1, 1995 through June 30, 1997:
Congratulations to Jon, Sally, and Pat! I am delighted to know that the administration of SIGCOMM will pass into such able hands. Thanks to the other candidates for their willingness to serve SIGCOMM and its members, and to Vint Cerf for chairing the nominating committee for this year's elections.
It has been a pleasure working with Raj Jain and Chris Edmondson-Yurkanan, the two other outgoing officers, over the past four years. Their contribution to SIGCOMM has been invaluable, and every member has benefited from their willingness to invest so much time and effort in your SIG.
Greg Wetzel will continue in the appointed position of Information Services Director pending confirmation by the new Executive Committee, as will David Wood in the appointed position of Award Committee Chairman. With this issue of CCR, Martha Steenstrup officially assumes the position of CCR Editor, succeeding Dave Oran. Lixia Zhang will continue as Associate Editor.
Proposals for the next two SIGCOMM Conferences have been approved by the Executive Committee and await approval by ACM. Assuming that the proposals satisfy ACM's requirements, SIGCOMM 96 will be held at Stanford University on August 28-30, 1996, with Craig Partridge as general cha irman; SIGCOMM 97 will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes on September 17-19, 1997, with Christophe Diot as general chairman and Scott Shenker and Christian Huitema as program co-chairs.
The ACM publications board has published its Electronic Publications Plan. Comments from the ACM community are encouraged; I particularly encourage members of SIGCOMM to read the Plan and comment on its proposals.
Lyman Chapin
SIGCOMM Chairman
